BEACH SPORTS
SURF THE WAVES
Surf consists of sliding on a board in the stage of breaking waves. The practitioner waits for the perfect wave to harness its power to gain speed and thus perform various maneuvers.
Within this modality there are various ways of practicing. The surf-board with short (short surfboard) is the most popular and the most elaborate and agile maneuvers variant. The surf-board with the long (long board) is more versatile because it allows surfing any type of wave including the smallest where the short-boards are less suitable. For the more experienced and courageous still exists a method to big wave surfing (surfing a giant wave), supported by a motorized boat. The high inclination and descent speed achieved by the surfer on the board makes survival as the most valuable prize to achieve.
